Kelly at work with her torch

The idea for a live studio was kicking around in Kelly’s mind for several years before it became a reality.

She wanted to create a space to share her love of jewelry making, where people could come and feel happy, comfortable and inspired to create.

She wanted to offer classes she wished she had access to when she was learning to make jewelry.

She wanted to invite other jewelry artists to teach who would be both great at what they do and able to explain it in a way that helped students feel successful.

We are happy to say that vision has been taking shape since we opened our doors for classes in 2018.

We now offer a variety of classes that bring the skills of many different artists into our Syracuse Studio.

Many of our classes are designed for students who have never made jewelry before or who are looking to refresh their skills and are at the beginner to intermediate level.

Some of our students are looking to try something new and fun with friends or family. We get lots of groups who want to try something unique together and leave with a finished piece.

Others are looking to develop a new hobby and continue to make jewelry after class ends. Our Mentorship is perfect for this as you can go more in-depth and have more time to practice. We also help you with shopping for supplies and setting up your own home studio.

Some may already make and sell their own jewelry and are looking to up their skill level. They enjoy using some of the studio tools they may not have at home.

Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident creating jewelry you will be proud to say you made.

We mainly work with sheet metal and wire in silver, copper, bronze and brass. You’ll learn introductory metal skills like sawing, soldering, hammering and texturing and have a chance to try out tools you might not have lying around the house.

Each Student Has an Individual work space (bench) that raises and lowers to accommodate sitting or standing at the bench.

You’ll have a set of tools to use along with access to shared equipment and supplies such as:

  • Silver Smith Acetylene Torches

  • Butane Torches

  • Potter Hydraulic Press and Dies

  • Durston Mini Combo Rolling Mill

  • Eastman Bench Shear

  • Accucutter Guillotine Shear

  • Foredom Flex Shafts

  • Buffing Machine

  • Jool Tool

  • Lortone Rotary Tumbler

  • Pepe Jump Ring Maker, Ring Bender and Ring Stretcher/Reducer

  • Sanding Belt

  • Drill Press

  • Disc Cutter and Dapping Blocks

  • Jeweler’s Saws

  • A variety of mandrels, Metal Stamps, Hammers, Riveting Tools, Enameling Supplies, pliers

(If you have NO IDEA what any of these things are, no worries! We are here to teach you how to safely use this equipment but fair warning-you may become addicted…)

Our classes are typically 4-6 people so the fill fast! The best way to keep up with what’s happening is to join our mailing list.
